Today we were lucky enough to have two more special visitors.
First, Principal Johnson came up for the second time and was able to drop in on many of the afternoon core classes and special interest classes. The kids were glad to see a familiar face and were able to catch up Mrs. Johnson on their exciting week. Mrs. J. received the flags at the flag ceremony, and then was able to participate in our classroom meeting. Thanks for coming up twice in one week!
Next, Mrs. Howard (Heather's mom) came and did an evening science program for us. She did the kickoff at Outdoor Lab that she did for the rest of the school on Tuesday. The kids saw some awesome demonstrations, and then they were able to go around and explore different stations on their own. The favorites were the dry ice bubbles, and the expanding Ivory soap. Somehow in the mix-up I didn't get to say good bye to her, but we thank you so much for coming!
The kids also had a wonderful closing ceremony run by the principal at Windy Peak, Mr. Gneiser. The kids did some readings about the iCARE philosophy here (integrity, commitment, awareness, respect, and empathy). We heard some amazing insights from many of the kids about what they learned this week at outdoor lab, and how this week has brought us all closer. We are so thankful for our time here, and all of our kids did a great job representing Colorow. We are so proud of everyone!
Here are a few pictures from our afternoon and evening. We will see you tomorrow!
