This has been another long day! Lots of our kids went on two hikes today in the cold and snow... most of them loved every minute of it! They were VERY tired this evening.
After dinner, we had a little bunk time, then we had our evening program. Tonight it was Dr. Mike's Bag of Bugs. Dr. Mike is a entomologist, and he brought along some live specimens to share with our students, including centipedes, beetles, a black widow spider (encased), and a tarantula (which we got to pet if we chose!). He was very informative and very patient with all the questions student threw at him about killer bees and brown recluse spiders.
After Dr. Mike, we had popcorn and punch, and the kids made murals. Each cabin illustrated some of their experiences here at Outdoor Lab. We hope to hang them up in the halls when we get back to Colorow.
We are about to say good night to all the kiddos, so I'll leave you with some more pictures of our evening here at Windy Peak.
I miss you all. I hope you are having lots of fun at outdoor lab!
